A Major Twist In IPL Row
As a major twist in the IPL row, the starting date of the IPL 2020 was shifted to April 15 following the deadly outbreak of the novel coronavirus. As per the old schedule, the event was scheduled to get commenced on March 29.
The top brass of the BCCI wa chaired a meeting under the leadership of President Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jay Shah as some of the arms of the Indian government was issued many bits of advice.
“Yes, the internal decision has been made to postpone the start of the tournament and it will begin on April 15, the BCCI was informed the franshises about the same,” A close circle of the BCCI said.
“The BCCI was concerned and sensitive about all its stakeholders, and public health in general, and it was taking all necessary steps to ensure that, all people related to IPL including fans have a safe cricketing experience,” The press release of the BCCI Said.
